Radius Bone - Located between the wrist and elbow. There are two bones in this area. This bone is attached closest to the thumb.

Range Of Motion - (ROM) The amount of motion a joint can move.

Reciprocating Gait Orthosis - (RGO), HKAFO designed to allow a paralyzed person to ambulate step over step.

Removable Rigid Dressing - (RRD), A removable cast applied shortly after the amputation in order to control swelling and protect the residual limb.

Residual Limb - Remaining portion of the limb after amputation. Sometimes referred to as a “Stump”.

Revision - Surgical alteration of the residual limb after the first surgery. This is done to improve the function and/or appearance.

RGO - See also, Reciprocating Gait Orthosis.

Risser Sign - Used to indicate spinal maturity. If the Risser sign is complete, there is little to no growth left in the spine.

ROM - See also, Range Of Motion.

RRD - See also, Removable Rigid Dressing.
